URUMQI, Aug. 28 -- One Y-20 transport aircraft and seven J-10 aerobatic aircraft of the Bayi Aerobatic Team under the Chinese People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) departed on Monday from an airport in northwest China for the First Egypt International Air Show at the invitation of the Egyptian Air Force.
乌鲁木齐8月27日电 中国空军1架运-20、7架八一飞行表演队歼-10表演机26日从西北某机场起飞，应埃及空军邀请赴埃参加首届埃及航展。
The air show is scheduled from September 3 to 5. Xie Peng, a spokesperson for PLAAF, said that this will be the Bayi Aerobatic Team's first performance in an African country and also the farthest flight overseas to date. During the air show, the Y-20 aircraft is set to make its debut performance and static display abroad at El Alamein International Airport, according to Xie.
埃及航展将于9月3日至5日举办。据空军新闻发言人谢鹏介绍，这是空军八一飞行表演队首次前往非洲国家进行飞行表演，也是表演队出国表演航程最远的一次。航展期间，运-20将在埃及阿拉曼机场实现海外飞行“首秀”，并进行静态展示。
Military expert Wang Mingzhi noted that the flight to Egypt will span nearly 10,000 kilometers and cross multiple time zones amid rapidly changing temperatures, posing a challenge to the logistics and the pilots' flight skills and physical endurance. It will demonstrate the long-range mobility and delivery capabilities as well as the outcome of realistic combat training of the Chinese air force.
军事专家王明志表示，此次转场航程近万公里，跨越时区多、气温变化快、保障难度大，将考验飞行员的飞行技术和体能耐力，体现中国空军远程机动投送能力和实战化训练水平。
It is reported that the formation is scheduled to fly over the pyramids in Egypt. Li Bin, head of the Bayi Aerobatic Team, said the pyramids are a symbol of ancient Egyptian civilization and the performance is sure to be a historical witness to the friendship between China and Egypt.
据介绍，运-20将与歼-10表演机编队“飞越金字塔”。空军八一飞行表演队队长李斌表示，金字塔是古埃及文明的象征，相信中国空军飞行表演编队与金字塔历史性的“同框”，必将带来视觉上的震撼，更为中埃友谊留下历史见证。
