SHANGHAI, Jan. 5 -- Recently, the Shanghai Municipal National Defense Mobilization Office announced a case of administrative penalty for dismantling an air defense siren without authorization.
During a recent inspection, the defense mobilization working group of Xinqiao Township, Songjiang District, Shanghai City, found that an air defense siren controller on a dormitory building had been dismantled without authorization. Due to the dense population around the building, the removal of the device significantly reduced the air defense early warning capability in the region.
Investigation showed that a company should take responsibility for the above mentioned wrong deed moves. After explaining relevant legal knowledge to the company involved, according to applicable provisions in the Civil Air Defense Law of the People's Republic of China and the Civil Defense Administrative Penalty Discretion Criteria of Shanghai Municipality, the Shanghai Municipal National Defense Mobilization Office of Songjiang District gave the company a warning, imposed a fine of RMB 10,000 yuan and issued an order of reinstalling the air defense siren controller in the original position. Related personnel of the company, having been fully aware of the severe impact, paid the fine and reinstalled the siren device in place on time.
