WAU, South Sudan, Jan. 12 -- The 16th Chinese Peacekeeping Horizontal Engineering Company to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) recently passed the UN equipment arrival inspection with high standards.
The inspection team evaluated the serviceability, maintainability, and basic equipment information of 46 pieces of equipment, including multi-functional engineering operation vehicles, field combat machinery, and high-mobility rescue vehicles. All equipment met the UN standards and the peacekeepers are proficient in vehicle operation.
It is known that the Chinese peacekeeping engineering contingent will use the equipment to undertake tasks such as repair of the mission's supply routes, renovation of airfield runways and aprons, construction and maintenance of base facilities, and emergency rescue engineering.
