Senior Colonel Wu Qian, a spokesperson for the MND, stressed at a regular press conference on June 24 that the responsibility for the China-India border conflict lies entirely with India, and China hopes to maintain peace and stability in the border area. So far, the Chinese and Indian militaries have held eight rounds of Corps Commander Level Meetings. The two sides have agreed to earnestly implement the important consensus reached by two heads of state to ensure that the front-line forces of both sides exercise restraint and prevent misunderstanding and misjudgment.
