9月18日，国防部新闻发言人任国强表示，中国人民解放军东部战区在台海附近组织实战化演练，是维护国家主权和领土完整所采取的正当必要行动。台湾是中国领土神圣不可分割的一部分，台湾问题纯属中国内政，不容任何外来干涉。
Senior Colonel Ren Guoqiang, a spokesperson for MND, said on September 18 that the real combat-oriented drills organized by the PLA Eastern Theater Command near the Taiwan Strait are legitimate and necessary to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity. Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory. The Taiwan question is purely China's internal affair and does not allow any foreign interference.
