记者：前不久，国家主席习近平对美国进行国事访问期间表示，两国军队要保持常态化对话，完善危机沟通和预防机制。请介绍中美两军下步交往有关考虑。

Question: During his recent state visit to the United States, President Xi Jinping underlined that the militaries of the two countries should maintain regular exchanges, and improve crisis communication and prevention mechanism. Please share relevant information about the engagement between the two militaries.

陈曦：元首外交是中美关系的定盘星，对两军关系发展起着把舵定向的引领性作用。中国军队愿同美方一道，落实好两国元首达成的重要共识，加强沟通对话，拓展交流合作，妥善管控分歧，推动两军关系稳定、健康、可持续发展，为构建“基于尊重、公平、对等的中美建设性战略稳定关系”注入正能量、增添新动力。

Chen Xi: Head-of-state diplomacy is the anchor of China-U.S. relations, which plays a guiding role in charting the direction of the mil-mil relationship. The Chinese military stands ready to work with the U.S. side to deliver on the important consensus reached by the two leaders, strengthen communication and cooperation, and properly manage differences. We will promote steady, sound and sustainable development of the mil-mil relationship, and inject positive energy and new impetus into building a constructive China-U.S. relationship of strategic stability on the basis of respect, fairness, and reciprocity.
