BEIJING, May 21 -- On May 19, the Chinese PLA troops participating in the China-Cambodia "Golden Dragon 2025" joint exercise dispatched some medical staff and troops to provide humanitarian assistance to communities and schools near the exercise area.
The Chinese PLA troops set up a temporary medical treatment area at a clinic in Kampong Chhnang Province in Cambodia, with more than 10 different treatment sections including cardiovascular medicine, respiratory medicine, general surgery, and pediatric departments. Chinese military medical staff worked together with their Cambodian counterparts to provide professional diagnosis and treatment services for local patients. Furthermore, the Chinese side donated over 5,700 boxes (vials) of commonly used medicines in 39 varieties to the Cambodian side.
On the same day, the Chinese participating troops donated supplies to a school in Kampong Chhnang Province. The Chinese soldiers went into classrooms to hold cultural and sports exchanges with the teachers and students of the school.
The provision of humanitarian assistance is not only a vital part of the joint exercise for the Chinese participating troops, but also a pragmatic measure for China and Cambodia to seek common development and prosperity.
