BEIJING, Dec. 10 -- On December 8, the Chinese PLA Navy's hospital ship Silk Road Ark, which is on the Mission Harmony 2025, arrived in Kingston, the capital of Jamaica, for a three-day goodwill visit and to provide medical services to the local residents affected by Hurricane Melissa.
Since its arrival in Jamaica on December 4, the hospital ship has treated nearly 2,000 residents in disaster-stricken areas. During its stay in Kingston, it will continue to offer free medical services to help ease the pressure on the local healthcare system.
"We hope that through the timely medical services, we can lessen the disaster's impact on the local people, and meanwhile, enhance the exchanges between our two peoples through this visit," said Luo Jixing, a crew member of the Silk Road Ark.
