Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday delivered congratulations to Macky Sall - who has just been re-elected as Senegalese president - through a phone call.
President Xi stressed in the congratulatory message that he highly values the relationship between the two countries. He vows to work with the African country to further deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation between the two sides and China-Africa at large.
Senegal's National Commission for the Census of Votes announced late February of incumbent president Sall's re-election, with support from 58.27 percent of the vote.
Sall was tipped to win after a modernizing first term that propelled Senegal's economic growth to more than six percent - one of the highest in Africa.
