BEIJING, Sept. 16 -- Chinese Defense Minister Admiral Dong Jun held talks in Beijing on September 16 with Álvaro López Miera, the Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba, who is visiting China to attend the 12th Beijing Xiangshan Forum.
国防部长董军16日在京同来华出席第12届北京香山论坛的古巴革命武装力量部部长洛佩斯举行会谈。
Dong said that China and Cuba have supported each other on issues concerning each other's core interests since the establishment of their diplomatic relations 65 years ago, setting an example of unity and cooperation among socialist countries and sincere mutual assistance among developing countries. He noted that China is willing to work with Cuba to jointly implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two parties and the two countries, maintain the good momentum of deepening military cooperation between the two sides, further strengthen high-level strategic communication, enhance personnel exchanges, deepen practical cooperation, promote military relations between the two sides to a new level, and jointly build a China-Cuba community with a shared future.
董军说，中古建交65年来，在涉及彼此核心利益问题上相互支持，成为社会主义国家团结合作、发展中国家真诚互助的典范。中方愿同古方一道，共同落实好两党两国领导人重要共识，保持两军合作持续拓展的良好势头，进一步加强高层战略沟通，密切人员往来，深化务实合作，推动两军关系迈上新台阶，携手构建中古命运共同体。
López said that Cuba and China share a profound revolutionary friendship. Cuba is grateful to China for its valuable support in Cuba's national and military development as well as for China's principled stand in international forums to uphold Cuba's legitimate rights and interests. He emphasized that Cuba highly commends and fully supports the four major global initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping. Cuba consistently adheres to the one-China principle and resolutely opposes any interference in China's internal affairs. Cuba will continue to consolidate and strengthen the special friendly relations between Cuba and China, and further improve the cooperation between the two countries and their militaries.
洛佩斯说，古中两国有着深厚的革命友谊，古方感谢中方对古国家和军队建设给予宝贵支持，并在国际场合为维护古正当权益仗义执言。古方高度赞赏、完全支持习近平主席提出的四大全球倡议，始终坚持一个中国原则，坚决反对任何干涉中国内政的行径，将一如既往巩固和加强古中特殊友好关系，不断提升两国两军合作水平。
Prior to the talks, Admiral Dong Jun held a welcome ceremony for López and accompanied him to review the Guard of Honor of the Chinese People's Liberation Army.
