BEIJING, Aug. 9 -- The Chinese naval hospital ship Silk Road Ark successfully completed the mission of providing medical aid to the PLA service members stationed on China's sea frontier and returned to a military port in Sanya, south China's Hainan Province, on Wednesday morning. Since setting sail on July 10, the hospital ship Silk Road Ark has travelled more than 3,600 nautical miles in 29 days. It has provided medical services for more than 3,500 patients and fulfilled the medical tour to Xisha Qundao, Nansha Qundao, and other South China coastal islands and reefs. In addition, it also provided popularization of island disease prevention, logistics and equipment assistance and other service tasks.
