CHONGQING, China, May 23 -- On May 21, the 10th batch of the military medical expert team dispatched by the Chinese PLA to Ethiopia returned to China after completing its one-year mission.
It is learned that the 10th military medical expert team consists of 13 members selected from the First Hospital Affiliated to the Chinese PLA Army Medical University (AMU), covering more than 10 professional disciplines such as hepatobiliary surgery, cardiovascular medicine, and laboratory medicine.
The 10th military medical expert team arrived in Addis Ababa, capital of Ethiopia, last May. During the one-year assistance mission, the team treated more than 2,000 Ethiopian patients, conducted 150 surgical operations, and led local doctors in carrying out multiple new clinical skills training and scientific research, thereby enhancing the medical treatment capabilities of local hospitals.
