BEIJING, Oct. 30 -- The China-Saudi Arabia Blue Sword-2025 joint naval special operations training has significantly enhanced the operational capabilities and interoperability of the participating troops, said Senior Colonel Zhang Xiaogang, spokesperson for China's Ministry of National Defense, at a regular press conference on Thursday.
It is reported thatChina and Saudi Arabia conducted Blue Sword-2025 joint naval special operations training from October 12 to 23, 2025. The spokesperson provided more details on the trainingupon request. "The exercise, which was held in Jubail, Saudi Arabia, consisted of two phases: individual training and collaborative training, followed by a comprehensive drill. Centered on counter-terrorism, maritime escort, and search-and-rescue operations, the joint training featured a range of scenarios, including anti-hijacking operations, sniper training, and tactical shooting drills," introduced the spokesperson.
China and Saudi Arabia have held "Blue Sword" series for three times. From land to sea, and from basic skills to systematic training, the two navies has been exchanging expertise and learning from each other through mixed-group drills and realistic combat simulations.
"The joint training stands as a significant practice in deepening pragmatic defense cooperation, and in advancing comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Saudi Arabia," added the spokesperson.
